Detroit Lions brought in Shaun Alexander and Cedric Benson, who was conveniently missing a fund raising event, for some talks early this week. Oddly enough they only worked out Shaun Alexander, not Cedric Benson.
The whole thing is just weird. The Lions are apparently bringing them in, not to sign them, but to "see what's available in case of injury."
Who's injured? If you had to ask me, I would assume there might be something wrong with Rudi Johnson and that's why he got let go from Cinci. I am completely shooting from my gut here, but it seems logical to me.
Either way, the fact that Shaun Alexander isn't on a team right now is a bit ridiculous considering he's three years removed from an unbelievably productive season in Seattle.
Are they really going to put this schmuck on their team over Shaun? It seems like all he does is go to Austin, smoke weed, drink beer and get DUI's...and then complain about being profiled...good luck Ced
Everyone talks about how he is the leader of the Colts defense and how hard he hits...blah, blah, blah, blah.
This guy is about as reliable as glass stilts. He is injured EVERY year, for a significant amount of time. I know he's a talented bloke, but tell him to start taking HGH or something so he stops getting hurt.
Separated Shoulders?
Big Ben says he's fine via Mike Tomlin, Jason Witten is confirmed via injury report.
I don't think it's going to be a big deal for either of them. Why did I just write that then?
